Nepal | Annapurna Circuit: Tikhedhunga - Pokhara
Pokhara is located in the nord-west corner of the equally named valley and along an old, important trading route between India and Tibet. It was part of the Kaski-kingdom in the 17th century and some of these medieval routs can still be spotted throughout Pokhara. Between 1959 and 1962 over 300000 refugees came from Tibet, most of them still living in the four refugee-camps that became settlements over time around Pokhara.
